Conozco gente que conoce y tararea la canión del mundial Italia 90, siendo que nacieron un par de años después. Un tema musical contundente, trasciende el evento en si mismo, y asocia al País anfitrión y al año. O sea que identifica un tiempo, un espacio y un motivo muy específico durante décadas. Eso es algo que pocas campañas de marketing pueden lograr.
Waving Flags es, sino la mejor, una de las tres mejores canciones de mundiales de fútbol.
Tiene una música muy agradable, que "se te pega", pero que no cansa luego de escucharla constantemente durante un mes.
Además, por si fuera poco, la letra no es liviana.
Encontré un video de este tema subtitulado en español, con imagenes de la Selección ARgentina. Se me puso la piel de gallina (si, ya dije que es mas cheto decir piel de pollo, pero bueh!)
Desapués les dejo varios videos de diferentes versiones de este tema, con invitados, diferentes instrumentaciones, etc.
Disfruten de los matices que nos da este evento deportivo, rodeado de mucho más que el deporte que lo convoca.

Les dejo la letra. No tiene desperdicio. La letra de la versión en español, por David Bisbal creo que no tiene tanta fuerza, debido a la traducción. Consideremos que al traducir no siempre se logra que la letre rime o sincronice con la música.
